Piano Tuning and on-site Piano Repairs

Piano tuning is the act of making minute adjustments to the tensions of the strings of a piano to properly align the intervals between their tones so that the instrument is in tune ... Fine piano tuning requires an assessment of the interaction among notes, which is different for every piano, thus in practice requiring slightly different pitches from any theoretical standard [ Wikipedia ].

Drawing on years of experience, Tim Hendy will tune your piano to the correct intervals, while also responding to the subtleties of your piano's intonation. During tuning visits he is often able to assess potential problems and to effect repairs on site which might normally be considered workshop jobs. Minor repairs which can often be performed on-site include:

Sticking keys
Pedal repairs
String replacement

Full Piano Reconditioning and Restoration

Full reconditioning of grand and upright pianos is carried out in the Tim Hendy Pianos workshop. Services offered include:
